BasebALL: One Game for All

Baseball is a game for all. No matter who you are, where you live, how old you are or what you look like, the game welcomes everyone.

From serving as the home of the Negro Leagues' East-West All-Star Game at Comiskey Park to employing one of the first female scouts in the majors with Bessie Largent, White Sox baseball has a storied past that has helped drive positive social change. Through BasebALL: One Game for All, the White Sox strive to create a welcoming environment for all people that is consistent with the spirit of the game on the field and in the stands.

BasebALL events, programs and activities emphasize the importance of being kind to others, celebrating culture and accepting individual differences through the shared language of sports.

Game Changers

Now in its ninth season celebrating and empowering underrepresented communities in Chicago, the White Sox Game Changers series, presented by Modelo Especial, has featured leading community voices focused on creating meaningful social impact. In 2024, the series also helped showcase compelling stories about sports and culture through the visual perspective and lens of photographers.

The capstone of 2024 programming, Game Changers Summit: Inclusive Innovation: Boosting Performance Through Diverse Teams discussed how a mix of perspectives is important in driving overall team performance. A star-studded panel shared key insights on empowering individuals’ strengths and backgrounds to bolster a stronger, more connected workplace culture.

In the Community

Hispanic community involvement: The White Sox create strong connections to the communities throughout Chicagoland, seeking to celebrate culture, support local partners and neighborhoods through partnerships with organizations, including Chosen Few DJs, Fiesta del Sol, local Chambers of Commerce and more.

African American community involvement: The organization also has created programming to honor the history and achievements of African Americans who helped forge a path in baseball and beyond. This support includes initiatives such as the Jackie Robinson Student Contest, content partnerships with historian Shermann Dilla Thomas among other notable influencers, the Double Duty Classic, the RBI and ACE youth baseball programs and events commemorating the Negro Leagues.
